About Us

We are a very small family homestead where we strive to raise excellent quality poultry.

Our humble beginnings consisted of bringing home three hens and one rooster for home raised eggs.  As many of you are aware, "CHICKEN MATH" happens all on its own.  Four chickens grew into a few dozen of all kinds of beautiful varieties.  Our daughter found her first love.  We learned about chicks, and showing chickens through 4H at local county fairs.  Christmas gifts began to revolve around incubators and supplies. One thing led to another......

At one point, we gave our daughter a specific homework assignment.  She was to do her research and create a report listing ten rare breeds, what their qualities were...pros and cons, popularity, what the hatching eggs and chicks sold for, and where we could get the best quality.  She spent several weeks completing this project and then gave us a full report.  We were highly impressed.  We then asked her to pick her top three favorite, which she did.  That spring, we invested in her top three choices.  That has been several years ago and since then we have had many great learning experiences and opportunities to raise several of the top breeds with excellent lines including Bev Davis, Wade Jean, Greenfire, and a great Sigrid Icelandic line.

Year after year we add a breed or two and now have settled into our top favorites which also include our incredible line of Calico Bantam Cochins and Malaysian Seramas that have stolen our hearts and many hearts across the country.  Our babies have been hatched from Maine to Arizona and even up into Alaska.
